five reasons to bathe in the Spa Dreaming Centre

15 Jan

While our Bath House is designed as a family-friendly, social bathing area where groups can connect and roam across our expansive grounds, the Spa Dreaming Centre is a more tranquil space nestled away in an area reserved for those over 16 years of age.

When combined, the Bath House and Spa Dreaming Centre comprise 70 globally inspired bathing experiences, all to be explored at your own pace when booked in for one of the various packages listed below.

The Spa Dreaming Centre is brimming with its own unique experiences, and here are five reasons you should consider adding Spa Dreaming Centre bathing to your booking.

1. Infrared sauna

The Spa Dreaming Centre is the home of the only infrared sauna at Peninsula Hot Springs. Infrared saunas provide a distinct experience from traditional saunas and steam rooms: instead of heating the air, infrared saunas warm your body directly, causing you to sweat without feeling overly hot. This means you can stay in the sauna for longer.

In the Spa Dreaming Centre you will also find a traditional sauna and a Moroccan hammam (steam room), decorated with authentic Moroccan tiles and gold fittings.

2. Barrel baths

Inspired by Scandinavian-inspired hot tubs, the Spa Dreaming Centre boasts two large barrel baths. The She-Oak Barrel Bath is positioned at one of the highest points in the bathing area and enjoys views of wide open skies, making for exceptional star (or cloud) gazing.

3. Shirodhara Water Meditation

The Grotto Pool is a partially-covered hot spring that allows you to enjoy a little shade on sunny days. It includes a Shirodhara Water Meditation feature, drawing on the Ayurvedic tradition of slowly dripping warm liquid onto one’s forehead. The word ‘shirodhara’ comes from the Sanskrit words ‘shiro’, meaning ‘head’, and ‘dhara’, meaning flow, and the idea behind shirodhara is to stimulate energetic flow.

4. Falling Water Massage

The Bath House has its own falling water massage pool – but the Spa Dreaming Centre version is a little deeper, with water falling from bamboo pipes stationed high above the pool. This pool gives the feeling of sitting behind your own personal waterfall.

5. Greater tranquility

The Spa Dreaming Centre is reserved for guests 16 years and over, making it ideal for those who want to unwind in a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere. We also keep guest numbers low in the Spa Dreaming Centre to encourage serenity.
